Players’ Playbook

I’ve kind of been M.I.A. for the past two months, the reason being I’ve been busy at work on a film project at my old production company, Fifth Ground Entertainment .  We’ve been working with the NHLPA and BlackBerry on a web series called the Players’ Playbook.  The idea is that BlackBerry would give 5 NHL players (Martin Biron, Scott Hartnell, Bobby Ryan, Joffrey Lupul & Michael Grabner) a playbook and they’d shoot 30 mins a week and we’d cut they’re footage into short webisodes.  So far the projects been a lot of fun and it’s been nice working with Fifth Ground again.  I’ve attached the sizzle reel for the series below that my editing partner Matthew put together.  If you’d like to see more head on over to http://playbook.nhlpa.com

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas etc…!!  I hope everyones having a great holiday thus far, I know I am!!  I love Christmas!  It’s strange being back at my parents house in Burlington but it’s really nice to escape Toronto at least for a few days.  Before I came back to Burlington I had a shoot with my good friend Ana Alic for her web series “The Diamond Life”.  When Ana and I first started talking about the shoot I decided right away that I was going to try and approach this one completely different.  I usually like to pull out every single light/softbox/umbrella/stand I own and go from there but on this one I limited myself to one light and a c-stand and I have to say it was a nice change of pace.  Not to say I’m going to try and become the millionth Terry Richardson clone out there, it was just nice not to have to put together my 7′ Octobox.  The episode of The Diamond Life is enabled at the very bottom.  Make sure to give it a watch!  On a completely different subject, I got some very good news.  The production company I used to work for just got a green light on a few different/very cool projects that I’ll be working on over the next few months.  I’m going to being editing on one and shooting stills amongst other things on the other project.  I wish everyone the best in the new year, it’s going to be a busy one!

Models: Ana Alic & Tommy O’Reilly, H&M: Sherry Vanstone, Stylist: Filipa Jackson.

Olympians

About two months ago I was commissioned by the terrific people at Springfree Trampolines to put together a series of promo photos for some of the members of the Canadian Olympic Trampoline team.  Springfree sponsors Jason Burnett, Karen Cockburn and Rosie MacLennan as they train for the 2012 Summer games in London.  Leading into the games Springfree is working with the Athletes on a few different projects.  I felt so lucky to be able to work with these truly amazing athlete and very genuinely sweet people.  Head over to www.springfreetrampoline.ca to learn more about Springfrees amazing trampolines!

The Ugly One

The other day my 12th removed Cousin Stacey asked me if I’d be into shooting a little poster for a show she’s producing at the Taragon Theatre in Toronto called “The Ugly One.”  Here’s my favourite from the shoot.  If you’re interested in seeing the show visit the Theatre Smash website here to reserve your tickets.
